Narrative is a type of poem that tells a story

EXAMPLE
Aver Maria
by Alfred Austin

In the ages of Faith, before the day
When the men were too proud to weep or pray,
There stood in a red-roofed Brenton town
Snugly nestled 'twixt sea dan down,
A chapel for simple souls to meet,
Nightly, and sing with voices sweet,
Ave Maria!

I

Lady and Queen and Mystery manifold
And very Regent of the untroubled sky,
Whom in a dream St. Hilda did behold
And heard a woodland music passing by:
You shall receive me when the clouds are high
With evening and the sheep attain the fold.
This is the faith that I have held and hold,
And this is that in which I mean to die.
( I only copied part of the poem)

Odysseus indeed in spoils of war
with cunning brave heart, cleverly won,

while his wife loyally waited, on Ithaca,

(I only copy part of the poem)

Lyrics
Lyrics is a poem that is spoke by 1 person about the feelings they have.

EXAMPLE
My Heart Sings
by Joe Fazio

In the song of life, all lyrics need a melody.

You are the lyric and you are the melody.
You are the lyric of my heart and of my soul.

The beauty of the rose, speaks a lyric of love.
Love, speaks a lyric of you.

The silent lyric of goodness, echoes from within you.
My heart, speaks the lyric of love...to only you.

Let the words...the lyric...that bind, pass between us.
Let the lyric, of you...of me...be as one.

A million words I can speak of you and the lyrics
would be the same...I love you now. I always will

was the man who made use of his nose as a knife. -> 2nd Line
He's slice up salami, tomatoes and cheese -> 3rd Line
at the tip of his nose with phenomenal ease. -> 4th Line

He'd buy food in bulk at incredible prices
and then use his nose to reduce it to slices.
His wife ran away and I know that he'll miss her.
The woman was frightened that one day he'd kiss her!
